The Tale of My Best Poem

I had overdosed on amphetamines because the voices told me to, As they taunted me in song while leaving me with little lyrical clues. I was trying to solve a cryptic puzzle and used drugs to enhance my mind, To stay awake for extended hours and remain un-robbed by the thief of time. I distracted myself from the encrypted letters with words, Of poetry about a face in a window between light blurred. Fear had cracked itself like an egg and trickled over me, As the face in the glass glared at me from a leafless tree. 3/12/17 This Poem was written for the contest "The Tale of Your Best", sposored by Phillip Garcia. I really like how you described fear in the last stanza. I can vividly visualize how the fear encapsulated you. Good write, Brendan!
