The System

Once you’re caught up in “the system”,
make no bets you'll get out.

The fight “against the law”,
is no easy bout.

The countless mistakes,
made by so many lives.

Our “system” ensures a memory
of every one will survive.

It will be “you against them”,
in a constant strife.

You'll be answering to “them”,
For the rest of your life.

Worldly life is evolving,
unwittingly hard and fast.

You’re forced to keep up.
They dwell on your past.

The unrighteous use of probation,
Should warrant non-compliance.

Wanting a future that's your own,
is labeled flagrant defiance.

They won't stop until society views you,
as an apple gone rotten.

And that part of the past you try to forget,
will never be forgotten.
