The Sweetness of Sleep

Ah, the beauty of sleep on this summery night. After my shower and pampering, There is nowhere to rush to go. That's most relaxing. Just wait for the bright stars and the silent moon to show! After thanking God for yet another day of life, I rest easy on fuffy pillows with no strife. Like some of you, I give Him my soul, after another day of life. For I know fully it is up to Him, if I am allowed to return. And seek my earthly, human goals. I then search the pages of many decades past. Seeking any person, place or happy circumstance. Which brought me limitless happiness. And makes my heart skip and dance! I don't last long in this reverie as it takes me far away instantly. It feels like soft flakes of rainbow crystals closing my eyes. And I welcome this sacred, sweet journey! As it is always the way to some unspeakable joy and surprise! Wishing you a peaceful sleep. Richard, I was raised so that each night to kneel in my nightgown and say the Angel of God prayer, a Perfect close to any day, that brings back memories to me, also! I dreamt of being a ballerina. )) Love, Panagiota xx

Ohhhhh Panagiota such a dreamy verse to entice anyone into the comfort and joy of sleep. I now never get a good nights sleep because of Parkinson's and the most I can hope for are a couple of hours before waking with stiffness and pain. But hey ho, reading your delightful poem has reminded me of how it used to be and I will read it often - a FAV for me - thank you. With kindest thoughts Ann xx
