The summer's gone, and here we are
into the fall of this old year.
It seemed the end was very far
as New Year's day brought us new cheer.
Into the fall of this old year
we shift our thoughts and give a sigh.
As New Year's day brought us new cheer...
surprised how fast this year would fly.
We shift our thoughts and give a sigh;
our summertime turned into fall.
Surprised how fast this year would fly;
exchanged her greens for a gold shawl.
Our summertime turned into fall
from summer sun to cool crisp days:
exchanged her greens for a gold shawl;
from pastel blooms to autumn-blaze.
From summer sun to cool crisp days,
it seemed the end was very far
from pastel blooms to autumn-blaze.
The summer's gone, and here we are.
