Notes About The Poem

Raining Cats and Dogs, Sponsor: Christopher Delegans, 5/24/2026

Finally, after several visits, far and few between, my daughter's cat trusts me.

The Stroke of the Clock

Her tongue, like a hand; she did lick my skin. Alas, out of touch, I’d avoid her chin. The stride was well worth the time - From chin to the head, sublime. The stroke of the clock, when we both, slow grin.

Some cats donot become friendly that easy. They will only be loyal to their masters. However, glad your daughter's cat finally grew friendly to you.

Thanks, Paige, just happened! Lily, the cat, would always dart away so I would just hold out my hand and let her lick my finger.

I know, they are irresistible. I have one that edits my writing all night, a lick and a purr, pure love in fur. You get a FAV!
