The Storm
All was still,
As the birds headed for cover,
Sensing danger,
Quietness before the storm,
Rumbling noises started,
The clouds darkened,
The atmosphere electric,
Suddenly crashing thunderbolts,
Rapidly heating expansion of air,
Sheets of lightning flashing,
Across the angry night sky,
Causing devastation and destruction,
Anywhere it wanted,
Having no mercy,
Striking down trees,
Branches were broken off,
The winds blew a mighty hurricane,
Overturning everything in sight,
The heavens were opened,
Rains poured down,
Turning into heavy pelting hailstones,
Bouncing hard against the ground,
Moving from town to town,
The storm was blowing off steam,
Releasing all its energy,
Until it burnt itself out,
When morning dawned,
Into a beautiful bright blue sky
So calm and peaceful,
Leaving the aftermath,
