~ The sting of death will always bring pain ~ grieve in peace ~ quote by poet Every day he brings flowers to the place where the ashes are buried The pain is at times unbearable, a dark g a t e It takes years to learn to bear grief with grace and acceptance Thoughts surround, envelop and overpower him completely He can barely m u t t e r her name without crying She placed her smile as a blooming j e w e l Touches the s h a d o w, angels don't fall from the sky

Anne-Lise, the last line is thought provoking. The shadow of angels...they're there, but it's not overpowering or obvious. The grief here seems very powerful and tough to bear. She must have been very special!! Smiles!!

Love your pic and your quote, undoubtedly from another one of your jewels. To commemorate my husband's passing last March, I took flowers to his grave and was overwhelmed by a single dogwood tree blooming amid a range of bare trees past the cemetery. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your placement.

Dear Anne-Lise, Ahh, such raw emotion and quiet beauty. I loved how you present grief in words, giving it shadows, gates, and blooming jewels, for it is deeply moving. It feels like you’ve touched the soul of sorrow and found its fragile grace. A winner for sure!! Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Yes...loss is very difficult to deal with. Especially tragic, unexpected loss of someone far too young to be parting. Someone you loved deeply, would have given your own life to save. I have dealt with this....
