The Starry Night

The Starry Night by Vincent van Goh; seeing it makes me wish to write, but my page is white like snow. NOTE: I realize this poem is very minuscule compared to Eileen's extravagant ode to Vincent van Goh... but this is what I got (a blank page)...

This is exactly what happens to me sometimes, Tomothy; I can relate to your clerihew...and I have been left with many blank pages myself:) // paul

seeing a painting like that makes it very hard to find the words to describe how it makes you feel and i think you've nailed that exact feeling in this poem...

So happy you liked it Eileen! I was POSITIVE you were going to stop by (being the super fan of Goh and all). Another wonderful artist is M.C. Escher... though his style revolves more around geometry and drawing... very interesting work!

I personally feel it's too short, it gets the message across which is the point after all.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. I will admit, however, that I'm not quite sure what you mean? Clerihews are only supposed to be 4 lines (on rare occasion 2 or 3 stanzas). My meager words wouldn't do the painting justice... I'm just speechless.

Works for me. I like it's simplicity.

Thanks Netter, however, I think I'll be keeping it how it is. Clerihew's aren't supposed to be long and dramatic, but short and concise...

At times, the most powerful message uses very little verbiage.

Well said, Drake! I have much respect for short poems and their ability to say a lot with so few words!
