The Sprigs and Spirit of Sistine -11

When I was a boy
I thought I saw God
with the face of a Pharaoh
riding towards me at midnight
in a golden chariot, pulled by horses of burning gold,
they moved downward out of the deep indigo sky
like a stream of smooth flowing lava,
somehow my soul zoomed up to His zenith
and the city of the Lord
was a circuit of celestial symmetry before my eyes,
and here I am as a restless man
massive in megalithic flesh
with bits of divine scroll on my teeth
seeking to speak the strictures of individual sovereignty...

This is myth and memory braided into prophecy--absolutely radiant. “Bits of divine scroll on my teeth” is an image I’ll be chewing on for a long time. The shift from boy to “restless man… megalithic flesh” is staggering in scope and spirit. You channel the divine with thunder and grace, Justin.

This is quite the intriguing section... very interesting descriptions here..how the soul zooms, the "divine scroll on my teeth"...the "celestial symmetry" is what fills me with awe. I surely can't fully grasp your amazing work Justin, though I am really enjoying the experience. There's a restlessness in you too I think, and you surely make such respectable and beautiful creations out of it. Im honored to read. I'll never take moments like these for granted. Always, Laura

What a vision indeed Laura. Restlessness can be symptomatic of neurosis, or an anxious soul, however, restlessness can also be a manifestation of a burgeoning passion, a passion born from destiny's desire for truth my lovely Poetess. Your heart speaks beautifully....Justin
