When colour
was to be
washed out
of the world
the evil ones
didn’t care
the Actor led
with his
Dementors
either side of him
Laundry,
they resolved
to be the best
pristine method
for separating
unnecessary
colours
from the wash
time to unfold
for you see,
we’re considered
all just - lost,
wet socks
it’s a dirty business
making life
clean again
time entertains
while "They"
continue their
large load wash,
it moves on
in no time
at all;
the ignorant
do not see
what is in
the wash

much too much
hypnotised by the
superficial
self-absorbed
by the gold dust

Nothing
has changed
since then,
the science
of washing
rages on silently,
like a virus
it infiltrates the
soap-washed cache
cashing in
on all
the sleeping gormless,
unnecessary useless units
to be washed, folded
and finally ironed out
young
and old
It coldly calculates
the necessary
splice of life
benefits
while we dream
drugged in our sleep,
Bohemians place us
on their alters
what remains
fresh and still
human
in us
They, in hushed
rituals remonstrate,
nothing must go
to waste
we
are placed
in a neutral state
of sustainable grace
organs are sold
in the goblin markets
they listen, and
they watch futures
the pipes
in hearts
and minds
smoked and played
like priests
being blown
ecstatically
away
immaculate
blood keys
in their mojo pouches
notes singing
tralala all the way
reptilian
velociraptors
green-backed
DNA
in their well-oiled palms
stroking away
it’s a small price
to pay,
to diminish
numbers vapid
to those
more easily
persuaded
to obey
there is vermin
in the well-fed
hidden underbelly
eating us all up
from the
inside out
washed out
soulless vessels
they remain
preying,
perched like hungry
dark vultures
sitting in their
highest rafters
sorting the
wheat from the chaff
watching their
drugged, docile
lab mice breeding,
rutting their dreams away
it doesn’t matter
which damned house
they count, they lay the
cheese traps in,
republican
democrat
are still rats
eating rats
underneath the
feathers
vermin crawling
with fleas
are slowly
cannibalising
The Lot
of us
there is a sickness
in this world
that is more
than just
Armageddon
pestilence
scientists
and their
puppeteers
quasi masters
playing God
with owl idols
in their
pig pens
little men
in big pants
dancing naked
over cocktails
playing children
the Spice of Life
then sashays in
it raises its ugly
Voldemort head
Its stomach is a
bottomless pit
rabidly commanding
it be continually fed
all rank
offering the
fast food
servitude
of the turgid within

Late 18th century; originally as a quotation from the English poet William Cowper (1731–1800) in The Task (1785): ‘Variety's the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavour.’ An earlier version is found in the The Rover (1681) by the dramatist Aphra Behn (1640–89), ‘Variety is the soul of pleasure.’ The Greek dramatist Euripides (c.485–c.406bc) in his Orestes has, ‘a change is always nice.’
