The Sleeper
Alone I walk through the valley of unrest
my life but a dream within a dream.
Then you come to me as the evening wanes
and my heart skips a beat in each golden moonbeam.
You, an enigma that haunts my dreamland,
will never allow me to enter your realm,
so I'm left to the whims of the lonely Sandman,
as your image, my dreams you overwhelm.
Caught in between awake and asleep,
the bells on the clock, my master timekeeper.
Like the wings of the raven the darkness will keep
my visions of you, I'm the sleeper.
