The Skagit River

When her mood is mild and tranquil,
Lovers picnic on her beach.
When her bosom swells with anger,
High her rage and far her reach.

The river, any river is really a powerful force; we must all learn to respect this earth and her waters or deal with nature's rage. Well worded.

Excellent, Joyce! I loved this personification of the sea's 'moods!'

Joyce - this is so lovely and powerful in its concise metre and perfect rhyme - I think some people get too carried away with "fancy" words and complicated verse, and sometimes forget about the exquisite beauty in simplicity! This is such a sublime example of that, and giving a strong punch with a short stroke. I love it - congrats, Dear Poet! :o) <3
