The Simple Rose
Simple
uncomplicated
flavorful nutrient,
breeding passion
in the soul;
dew-kissed
delicacy,
upon a defensive
stem.
Ziz-zag toothed,
offspring of greens
against a bush
of pinks, reds, yellow,
mauve, white;
a gentle soul among
life’s thorns
is a rose.
Smiling petals
dance on a breeze
and come to rest upon
Gaia’s breast;
perfumed kisses.
