The Shoe Fits

I got me a special pair of walkers,
Tattered, torn, comfortable dockers,
Ain’t too easy on the eyes,
And wouldn‘t win a prize,
It’s the size fourteens that are the shockers.

Witty and fun piece, Robert! There's something about worn shoes, we get very attached to them. Best to you, and if this is for a contest, hope you'll be a winner! God's blessings to you and yours, Mikki

Robert, I agree, that the most comfortable shoes are the ones that are worn and tatteed. lol Sounds like my nephews who stand 6'4" and 6' 3"! : ) Hope you have a good weekend and you and family are well. Always, Annalise

I'm a thirteen, don't I know how it feels! You know, aside the fact that your little poem there had me grinning ear to ear, I sense the underlying message, subtly splayed across every word. No it "ain't too easy on the eyes" but if the shoe fits... well, it seems if we must be rugged and used in order to be at all, well that is a choice worth making, is it not my fellow poet?

Got a good laugh from your limerick, Robert. Size 14? Wow, your feet are more than twice the size of mine. Funny last line. Best wishes in the contest. Love, Carolyn
