The Sentinel

The fury of the angry sea Battered their boat through the night In Davy Jones locker they'll be If the sentinel shows not its light For in its light is the hope they need To see them through their stormy ordeal Upon the rocks they'll surely be dashed If the sentinel's light is concealed The lighthouse stands tall as mighty waves fall And her light in the distance is seen They steer through the squall With the guidance they glean Which safely leads them to shore The sentinel shines bright in the darkest of nights And like many times before, It guides sailors through their stormy plight. ---- 7/18/17
