The Sensual Curves of Space and Time

Forget progress stampede spelled in linear time

Money blues will destroy your very climb

Instead, see life as a squirrel hopping

Brazenly from branch to twig

or a troop of lions meditating

in the lush jungle heat

We are animals as well

Despite society's dizzy spell

Our heart churn

With the sun and gravity

All the same

Not as lost children

But now adults we can reclaim

The power and mystery of life

Indulging in the wandering curves

Poised between November rain

Awaken body, mind, heart, and nature as well

We need every piece

In the grand composition

As we reach through the looking glass

Into our chosen future

Oh, how right you are with every word. We really do need to link ourselves to the world outside of our windows, especially to the beauty of God's world - the landscapes, the birds and animals. We need to sometimes move away from our humanness and realize that we are but part of this world and a small but important part of the universe. Your last verse: "Awaken body, mind, heart" - yes. I think that poets do often bridge the gap between the natural world and the world of man with their words. Look at my poem following yours. Lovely poem and well worth reading!!
