This one's a good one. More firmly based in 'reality'. "I am of the view that societal fixation on forgiving others, is just another way that we bypass our own rightful anger, confusion, sense of loss. It is also a way that victims end up feeling to blame for their experience.

"I do agree that we can't forgive another, until we self-honour, and that forgiveness is welcome if it is organic, but I also believe that forgiveness may have no place in certain dynamics. And that's entirely okay. Forgiveness is not an emotional measure of our health and well-being. Resolution is.

Thank you Lindley. This is a poem about transformation through forgiveness. It is also a poem about the virtue of children, aligned with and treated with the reverence of 'God'/or the 'divine'. Forgiveness is a quality we find hard to embrace, but it is one of the most important to deliver; this poem is for all ages, but this poem more directed towards the 'adult'. Forgiveness, 'isn't an easy road for some. Call this poem, 'grace' under fire. "For me, forgiveness and compassion are always linked: how do we hold people accountable for wrongdoing and yet at the same time remain in touch with their humanity enough to believe in their capacity to be transformed?""Forgiveness says you are given another chance to make a new beginning..."
