Notes About The Poem

For Joseph May's Palimdromes Poetry Contest

The Sarcastic Son-in-law

I asked Euston, my new son-in-law,
"Was it a car or a cat I saw?"
Euston saw I was not Sue.
He finds me (Sue's mom) a shrew,
so he scoffed, "Does a car have a claw?"

No way. The name Euston is so rare I had to look it up. It's Irish and normally Euston refers to some train station in Britain

Thanks, Jan. It is literally impossible to not use seven syllables in lines 3 and 4. Go look and see what I mean.
