The S Word, Collaboration With Lin Lane

I mustn’t write it in a poem someone will moan if I do It begins with s and ends in t perhaps it’s a load of pooh But if I inscribe it in a poem someone may tell me to hush It begins with s and ends in t this dirty word I'd have to flush If it's submitted in a poem some may think it'll burst a bubble it begins with s and ends in t and belongs in a pile of rubble You can't overlook it in a poem It's obvious when you see it it begins with s and ends in t One word that displays no wit When I see it written in a poem I balk. It makes me want to puke It begins with s and ends in t and is the reason for my rebuke thanks for joining me with this poem Lin, we both abhor seeing swearing in poems and will never use the s word ourselves:-)x

Beautiful, beautiful, so beautiful and as always, your pen writes in the language of kings through a naturally flowing ink.

This is the sweetiest succinct spiritualist solemnest significant salient standout poem I have read in a long time, why it could be made into a sonnet

We say sh*t but I have a friend who says sh*te - he wrote a poem about it and performed it on stage and his aunt was so disgusted she walked out of the performance!:-) hugs Jan xx

What does an old worn out dirty shirt have to do with anything? I have a few I wear to work out in the yard and they both look like s**t. : ) This was fun Jan

P.S. pass my thoughts on to Lin as well. You know, we can't comment on too many poems on this site.

But what is bad is when you use a legitimate word and they put stars between the letters. I was using a synonym for strange and my poem showed q...r. So I changed the poem but was not happy. Love your collaboration, dear poet!

Oh it is irritating Kim! I sometimes use the s word if that happens lol, I've not used queer but have used pussy and had to make it pussycat:-) hugs Jan xx

Wow, great collaboration, Jan and Lin! It flowed perfectly and had me smiling throughout. It's great to find a collaborating partner. Congrats! Hugs, Carolyn PS-"Shoot" also begins with "s" and ends with "t" and people here in the South use it in place of the other word quite often. Has a folksy sound to it.

Hi Jan, wonderful collaboration by you both. I can't be doing with bad language and certain words in poetry. There is never any need for it. I love the content. Kudos to you both. have a wonderful Thursday. Hugs....Mike. XX
