The Rock

I am rigid but secure. I sit along side a path Having a view of the glistening pond. I see people walk by, They come and they go. But there is this one girl, Who’s different from the rest. She is young and genuine, Her blue eyes show a sign of comfort. She is one out of many that sit upon me. I see her looking out Daydreaming about life. I hear her mumble words under her breath, Like asking questions, She’s looking for answers. This girl, She always has a smile on her face, Like something amazing as happened here, Like she knows there is still hope. She holds on, and keeps going. The girl lets out a sigh As she gets up to leave. While walking away She turns with a smile on her face. And that’s how I know she will be back again.
