The Road Back Home

If the road back home runs through a man’s heart
why does he ever leave in the first place

O, I suppose flashing neon lights and fancy eateries
                 beckon and lure would-be sophisticates

‘Til they find that one meal at home is worth
more than all that expensive, unnourishing ‘cuisine’

Not to mention hot cars and flashy clothes
sinking their tenterhooks into station wagons and overall jeans ...

Those fancy eateries perhaps for social reasons, especially nibbles. But, there is nothing like cooking and serving what you want, simply and faithfully. What of those hot cars..flashy clothes…those tenterhooks…ooh the wording…what do we really need, we especially might ask ourselves as we wrinkle and gray.

Nothing beats a home cooked meal. It's full of love and makes you real.
