The River

The river When the river is pure, They throw gold and silver, They throw their mud there, When the river is dirty, They come to drink with us, Little by little, they defile the water, In our turn, we dream of the Zambezi, From the Niger River.

There are sad truths in this lovely poem, Yann. Very nice to see it presented in two languages. Hopefully, our planet will see much greener days. :)

A long crescent shaped river, I read that climate change and human conditions contribute to its pollution. Zambezi 4th largest looks beautiful, Yann. Exquisite poetry translated to us in French, when I read it as better I could, I sighed. Truly poetic, I enjoyed. xo

Sad but true yann. Man's insistence of abusing natural resources. I know that the Niger river is very polluted. Does uranium have anything to do with it? You've sparked some curiosity with this; thanks yann

The pure water of the river gradually gets polluted with toxic waste by thoughtless men. How sad! Great poem dear Yaan.
