The Reunion
The day was bleak and dreary, fitting
For a man on a quest such as this
The gates were open when he pulled up
Almost inviting, he thought briefly
He walked the grounds looking so slowly
Some stones polished, others so decayed
Trying hard to remember, recall
Her final resting place here on earth
He hadn’t come since that grievous day
When his familiar life had gone
Never believing her soul was here
But in Heaven she surely belonged
He needed her now more than ever
For his time was coming to meet her
He wanted her to know, to be there
To welcome him to the afterlife
