The Raining

Looking out across the way A single street light's yellow cone of bright cuts the lonely black of night Holding within its angled gold a wall of water raining rain raining down. Rain so dense as to appear a solid glimmered sheet catching light to shimmer-gleam like precious stones congealed. Yet spaces be there, yes, between each raindrop driving down, each one a lonely drop of wet a diamond set alone. So as with the raindrops, spaces surely be between my heart and yours. And yet for me no span at all, no slivered hollow nor edging crack, between my heart and yours.
