The Rain

The rain washes my face, Like a shower in the morning, Communicating growth and living, Nutrients for plant development, Letting photosynthesis occur. It reminds me sometimes, That perfection shouldn’t be a goal, Important or a drive: But to get a bit dirty and wet, Is ok, and may indeed mean you have arrived. It does not come with cold, Warmth can be when it rains; Jackets and coats are not necessary, For that spec which floats onto you. And rain doesn't affect the sea, That great living organism of spank, But contributes to its being, Compliments its stance. It wets your hair no problem, When you've not washed it: Forgotten, or neglected yourself, Taken a chance when you can’t. Rain, disliked and undervalued, Is a very necessary thing, Nice, tangly at times, And can be a most delightful friend. 4th October 2015
