The Purpose of Your Life
“What is the purpose of my life? you ask
as you try to figure out your life task.
Well, that is a question for your Maker,
Who gave Adam the job of caretaker.
Your purpose is not to earn men’s applaud,
but to live for the glory of God.
Not just to gain a good education,
but to obtain heaven’s citation.
Your life’s purpose is not a great career.
You’re here on earth, the love of God to share.
Not just to build a successful business,
but to daily demonstrate God’s goodness.
You are not here just to occupy space,
but to live a noble life by God’s grace.
Not just to foster a fine family,
but become a part of God’s family.
Your purpose is not great riches to earn,
but to unite with Christ and from Him learn,
the fear of God which will make you wise
and help you to win the eternal prize.
Your life’s purpose begins and ends with God.
Live to please Him, by His glory be awed.
When your daily life brings God enjoyment,
you will find life’s ultimate fulfillment.
