The Proliferous Tree
Dawn broke fiercely in my proud face
forcing me quickly through the broken gate
Everything was so still but I kept walking
until I reach the bottom of the hill
curious cars passed by honking their horns and bidding me goodbye
They watched me tumbled down the stricken mound
With stars shining above me and darkness surrounds me
As daylight peeps through the thick bush the compelling clouds appear
blocking my path leaving me cold dry and bare
stricken in the midst of the dark battered and bruised inside
I kept walking and held strong to my conviction
A ferocious energy whisked me across the pitch-black street
And the half moon suddenly appears shining its bright light throughout
exposing all its glory and everything about
I walked humble along the tracks humming a song from way back
watching the moon light casting shadows everywhere
disrupting my emotion and everyone that I love so dear
It wasn't time for the full moon yet but the radiation was so strong
that it brought an enormous hoopla around me
I stumbled down the river bank and stand on a flat rock in the water
And whisper a prayer to the Gods but God too has abandon me
Daylight finally broke loose sending everyone on the run
and putting the public on notice
The hot sun came out scorching everything far and near
I searched for a quite place to stay but this precarious
feelings continue to haunt me the entire day
I lie flat under a tree on the grass thinking
And I could still hear the birds near me grumbling
A fight broke out in the tree
and those beyond me were protesting
I crossed the street to seek some consolation
and I saw a woman in a long blue dress
standing in the middle of the river doing a photo shoot
Blue in nature green in nature wrapped up together
I walked back and forth the dejected track
trying to find my way back
so I journey to the other side of the river
and stumbled upon a proliferous tree
A gigantic tree fixed on the river bank
with branches protruding in every land
giant roots popping out of the ground
and fibrous roots spreading all around
carnivorous in nature it bends over the the silent river
with big hollow branches running under
I sat on cemented rocks on the river bank
Watching the water running down the fall
And the birds frantically disputing in the trees
as if they have something significant to tell me
Something kept digging my soul
gutting the proliferous tree that hangs over me
and unveiling the taproots that anchors me.
