The Power of Words
Words like darts in the heat of the moment
Can tattoo the skin you're in
Once expressed, you have to own it
You can't scribble them out with a pen
It could be anger or panic induced
But the consistency, just as thick
A shameful pain, you introduced
more weight than a stone or stick
You can express your regret a thousand times
But a difference, it will not yield
Honesty came out, you crossed the line
Your lips, you should have sealed
Now there lives a permanent wedge
Between two kindred spirits
A powerful relationship tempting a ledge
The awkwardness, you can hear it
Tip toeing on eggshells becomes the norm
Both parties are now at fault
One created this vicious storm
The other's pride has gotten caught
