The Portrait

The portrait hangs on the wall Trying to convey a thousand tales Unfortunate are we,unable To decode its powerful will. The portrait hangs on the wall A mixture of splendid hues A witness to endless incidents Yet glorious in its graceful silence! The portrait hangs on the wall A symbol of deep patience Intentionally unaware of its alarming grandeur Subject to the deceptive pangs of jealousy! While the room exerts its own importance The wall is clear in its perception One says the portrait is mine The other is busy to lie! The portrait hangs on the wall Busy displaying its beauty to the world Alas! a fool it is To allow its own mockery!
