The Pond
As life's energy swirls all around,
Peace settles in my breast,
Sitting quiet and still,
as turtles splash in and out of the water
nearby,
And a playful otter giggles,
waiting for a playmate to join in his fun.
The wind jogs around us all,
giving the downy hair of a cattail a
piggyback into the peaceful wood.
White cotton clouds make their way,
lazily across the sapphire sky,
Making sure not to disturb the
brilliant sun,
Who's rays transform the rippling water into
glittering diamonds before my eyes.
But before that beaming magician can perform
his magic again on the flat canvas before me,
The lonely otter splashes,
announcing his departure
and peaking his eyes in farewell.
As I too depart,
I smile,
Feeling at one with nature.
