The Polar Vortex

I check the weather on my phone Before I head outside. My jacket choices such a glance Does helpfully provide. For weeks, my trusty fleece it’s been, With turtleneck below, A sweatshirt sometimes added If the wind’s supposed to blow. Today, though, temps were hovering At thirty-eight degrees So if I dressed like always I believed I might just freeze. Some Arctic air has come to town, Unusual for May. The Polar Vortex, as it’s called, Makes flowers droop and sway. My woolen cape came out to help Me on my walking task. I wonder if it recognized me From behind my mask.

A mask and earbuds, glasses off. Because the fog requires I doff. And so when I approach the counter, and try to add the price. And still after I asked the clerk, I was wrong, even checked twice. :)

Aye, farmers, orchardists, and shoppers just got another stab in the back, but from the Polar Vortex instead of Trump. Lucky you can still go out for a walk! Stay safe and happy! Aloha! Rico

I'm still in my parka, boo! Makes for one grumpy May baby. I'm getting a workout bringing my rosemary bush in and out every day. But we have south facing porch, so when the sun is out, it can get right toasty if not in the wind, we call it the optimist porch. ;), Soon ~ xomo!

Life in Ileneville is always so interesting, even if it's simply about choosing attire for a walk! You infuse everything with your own special flair and flow. Hope you stayed warm!

I was told of snow in Canada today ... the weather is so unpredictable, we have had wall to wall sunshine for quite a few weeks just 2 days of rain in about 7 weeks, it would be a different scenario if we couldnt go out walking to escape being at home all the time. stay safe and keep on with the stories of life in NY:-) hugs jan xx
