The Point of Turning

Beautiful words uttered softly to me Equal the elegant cerulean sea In loveliness and tranquility The point of turning sees the tide flow back in time To places of the heart, yet, unexplored And depths unplumbed, desires ignored When cold as deepest sea, frozen as farthest North Chilled to darkest depths within the vast emptiness Of this icy prison of a soul Yet inspiration comes to crack the outer cage Seeps through that tortured soul, washes from the heart its rage Replacing hate with kindness and unexpected love Brings forth renewing courage From lowest realms to heights above A very long, cold Winter ends

It's nice to find your poetry again Donna. The contests have been challenging us with so many new forms that it is hard to get back to the basics of our own style. It is fun to enter and win though. Lovely writing. Love, Joyce
