The Poetess Forever Gone 8/11/2023 Sun shines down through a cloudy aperture. The writer, gone on a blessed, grand adventure! Her table, chair, flowers, rug, wait for her. Under moonlight, their soft cries, murmur. It’s hard to believe that she is no more. I see her swinging on angels’ bright doors. Or running barefoot on celestial shores. Shimmering beaches~ hers, forevermore. Looking up at the stars in God’s heaven. I still remember her, jumping rope, age seven. And as she grew, loved this world the more. Till God took her home, to His celestial shores! In Memory of My Cousin Alumnae of Poetry Soup Missing you!

Yes, that’s an actual picture! I want to cry when I see it… Her poetry is still here under Madelyn McKay. She really loved life, nature, music, animals. And had respect for her fellow man. A woman who cherished nature, people, outer space and flight. She won a trip where astronauts learn, as she was a fantastic teacher. All her poetry was written during chemotherapy..She wanted to weite more, but went downhill after her Covid shot, that paralyzed her face on one side. Thanks Linda. We both loved Dave Brubeck.)))) Dearest Pangie, your loving tribute to Madelyn is filled with beauty and grace encompassing the love you felt for one another . My favorite line - Under moonlight their soft cries murmured . It’s says so much and reveals the longing . Your memories together sound splendid as do the messages of both of your hearts . Sending my condolences and big hugs to you . Love, Susan :)

Susan, thanks for reading this and your awesome comment. I think Madelyn would love this poem, had she been here! Thank you for stating which line you liked. I know you are a master at imagery and poetry in general. Of course, her loss was huge.the world is empty without her compassion and humility and genuiness. Yjamk you, Panagiota

Hello! Sometimes, I know I tell far too much about me as you know from past poem. I don’t write quippy.. nasty, nor intellectual poetry. She was almost like a sister. We grew up next door to each other, balleted, together and attended the same school! I am sure she rests in peace. Gratefully, Pangie

I, too like ve this poem ..I like genuine poems from the heartShe was too sick.to post many poems.but she never complained. I never for a second thought she would die before me.when I came home after surgery at Christmas, there was a Christmas and Chanukah card, from her! I wept~ as she passed before the holidays. To say I was bereft, is putting it mildly! Merci for the FAVE, my awesome friend. Pamgie

I wish, I wish…. I could hug her. A phenomenal human being who never saw ….to take ……..but to give. The last thing she ever wanted was to be top dog. Too bad! She was awarded top teacher in one of our Midwest states. And well known among pilots of aircraft in the EAA. Her name is at the Wall of Honor at the EAA in the Midwest. She was amazing and courageous. And taught the handicapped how to sno-ski. Her ski tracks of integrity are left on my heart. And what it means to be a human being. Thank you Pangie

Belle, I don’t know you as well as I knew her, but I sense you genuinely care about others as Madelyn did. Her poetry is under Madelyn McKay. She didn’t get to write a lot. But it is si much like her! She loved life. Thank you Belle. Pangie

She died before Christmas. That was such a loo, we grew up together. I wish she were still here. She was of great encouragement to me when I was in hospital. I came home a few weeks before Christmas. There were her cards for me! But she was not here for that Christmas. I cried when I saw those cards. Thank you. Pangie

Bill how odd! I thought I answered this! Better check my mid again))Her poetry is still here! She was dying .of cancer. And most of the time, unable to pen. That was literally her chair and table in the back yard. It is no nameless image. She was fun, king, talented and humble.Hope you and Sara are well.I am just fine, friend in Texas. Pangie
