Mid-nineteen-fifties were my teenage years,
and rock 'n roll band songs made happy days.
Among the best, 'The Platters' songs were dear
while thinking of my true love- as always.
'My Prayer' and 'Only You' were special songs
that captured the true meaning of our love;
"my prayer- to linger with you" still belongs
forever in our hearts- fits like a glove.
And, 'Only You', those words have always been
our favored ones- the song we used that day
when we were married to new life begin-
and sixty-two years later- here to stay.
A special time, a special band were they-
'The Platters' songs became our hearts' mainstay.

Lyrics - My Prayer
When the twilight is gone and no songbirds are singing
When the twilight is gone you come into my heart
And here in my heart, you will stay while I pray
My prayer is to linger with you
At the end of the day in a dream that's divine
My prayer is a rapture in blue
With the world far away and your lips close to mine
Tonight while our hearts are aglow
Oh tell me the words that I'm longing to know
My prayer and the answer you give
May they still be the same for as long as we live
That you'll always be there at the end of my prayer

Lyrics - Only You
Only you can make this world seem right
Only you can make the darkness bright
Only you and you alone can thrill me like you do
And fill my heart with love for only you
Only you can make this change in me
For it's true, you are my destiny
When you hold my hand I understand the magic that you do
You're my dream come true, my one and only you…
