The Place
A stone erected in it's place
Marking a grave a special space
Where is buried the flesh
that turns to dust
A solemn message for each of us
A name and a date
the beginning and the end
The now known location
of a dear, dear friend
Sometimes the oneness
of a husband and wife
Sometimes a monument
for a heroic life
And sometimes the stones
are all just the same
a stone, a flag and just the name
A place for honor beneath
the ground
A sign of respect without
a sound
A farewell from those left behind
A place where love is easy to find
