The Pink Evening Sky
A riot of colours explodes over the lake.
Shades that start pink and soft
Turn to fuschias, indigos and lavender.
Bright slashes of colour herald the coming night.
I sit on my deck with steaming coffee in hand
Enjoying my solitude.
I love this brief time between day and night
When everything is right with the world.
Tonight , tomorrow and into eternity
Nature will show her fireworks display
But, oh so briefly.
So sit, watch, enjoy it while it lasts.
