The Pink Balloons
I didn't expect the moon would darken so soon
The clouds were not dense black in the sky
Wind so gladly entered the pink balloons
They insisted to get lifted to the moonlit high
Your legs ready to dance in moonlight tune
This is how at times the pink balloons betray
Without notice they would select to burst
Making all the candles and ribbons going astray
Leaving dried the tongue and lips of thirst
This unsettling thing happened yesterday
It was a long night of stark sorrow
Still, it was in all respects only a night
In the bouquet will get in many a tomorrow
In a taller string will climb up our kite
Streets and lanes once in a while may narrow
