The Perilous Journey Part 2
Oh Lord, I know this empty terrain…
I recognize this grassland; I’ve tread this ground
Long ago, I used to roam in it time and time again…and touch the Rain
I let the Rain… wash away my insecurities with soft sound
I was homeward bound…and I fretfully frowned
I was a lost, forlorn hound
Until I witness God’s miracles
Freedom is not easy to gain and it’s pricey like grain
Sometimes, it takes walking on hot coals to refrain from being driven insane
Deliver us…
Deliver us…
Marinate us…
With golden gladness!
Not messy madness!
Give us one more chance…
Build us up…
Don’t destroy us now…
As we lay in ruins, we look up to You, hoping You will save us
It has been a perilous journey…I gottah say
That you’ve made me proud of you this shining day
Tell Him your insight and follow Him wholeheartedly…
He will reveal to you your heart’s desire…
Burning with passion and cordial fire
He won’t leave you in the dust
Don’t stumble and fall!
He admires your awesome prosperity
You broke us all with words of worthlessness
Let the crows fly you away into society’s mess
We all scream in a chorus:
Deliver us…
Deliver us…
From sorrow and stress
Wait for Him…
Wait for Him…
To help us earn pure success
Life’s a bumpy bus
Lighten up the dark…pull us
Away from the adversaries that try to twist things up
Wait on Him…
Wait on Him…
Have faith in Him…
Have hope in Him…
Don’t complain or fuss
I know God’s looking after us all…
We’ll stand tall…and we’re gonna rely on Him
Instead of our own devices
Remember Jesus’ sacrifices for our sin?
Don’t give me blank faces!
He despises the fact that we ignore Him
DON’T IGNORE HIM
DON’T REJECT HIM
Don’t disappoint Him
Don’t fall short too many times in front of Him
Don’t stop praying…
Don’t stop believing…
Deliver us…
Deliver us…
Have faith in Him…
Though we don’t see Him
Anywhere I sight
Just rest here for the night
For the night
“Deliver us
From the bondage we face on Earth!
Make us overflow with Mirth!”
Your zealous, amazing features shine on
Although I can’t see it completely,
He knows our purpose in life…it’s sacred and as precious as the dawn
He whispers in my ears favorably:
“Live life to the fullest
With all of your ability
Rely on Me…and you’ll know that this option’s the best
One to pick…so choose wisely!”
We utter with our weary tongues
Songs of praise
We gaze
At your wondrous truth
Still unknown today
We grazed
Through the pathways of the past and its shame
Forget about it!
Remember no more of it!
Send it off somewhere else…
Cast it away and listen to the blessed bells
Let’s finish the Perilous Journey
In a jiffy…at this very moment – come on! Who’s with me?
We will soon cherish a spiritual love that won’t last
