The Perfect Poem

I thought to write a perfect poem but realized that's just not me most of my poems blank honesty -- not rightly Classical not wrongly Free bound by the heart I will pen the moment take personal chances let others plagiarize destiny --

The enigma of this poem, as I see it anyway. From what I have seen of nature and man, if there is a perfect, it would have to be a God. And if there is destiny, it would be predetermined by this God -- already written -- "let others plagiarize Destiny". I will just in the moment try to be. Screwy thinking I know.

Absolutely. In that sense, I would argue that perfect does not exist -- only truth is obtainable...and that does not require perfection.

Is there such a thing as a perfect poem when eyes are subjective and abstract? You are right about the plagiarizing part.. arnt all word recycled anyway..

Gosh, this is such a moving and thought-provoking piece, dear Jo. I absolutely agree, there's no such thing like a 'perfect poem' as I believe, whatever we write reflect the fragments of our heart, embodied within flaws which make it truly beautiful and authentic! We pour our souls into the art of poetry and that's what truly defines us.. and distinguishes us from others ..
