The Perfect Painting
A near one motivated me to paint my canvas with hues newed
So that I could paint a perfect painting never ever viewed
I practiced hard and soon my brushstrokes had no rival
Grateful that I learnt well and wanted the art to see survival
I realized that the younger ones could not sustain my dream
For they had their own to fulfill and swim their own stream
They thought that in front of my success, their talent may be pale
And who will then admire their own canvas and boost their morale
I let them be themselves and burnt up my own perfect painting
so that they could get a perfect one from their own attaining
I was happy that they learnt to paint their canvas perfectly in the end
For I discovered that perfectness is no absolute and had infinite trend
Like the colors of the rainbow throw up new fusions at their seam
And give colors for a new perfect painting for another generation to dream
