The Supreme Court may invalidate charges against Trump for crimes committed in office. Reminder--like when he tried to reverse the results of an election. If Congress fails to remove a president for criminal activity in the future, our democracy will decline. It could go as follows:

Potential commander-in-cheat Has a PhD in deceit If courts say he's free We'll see an orgy With pee that D.T. could excrete

I am praying for completely different contenders from both parties. The two right now are both disgusting. How much more stupidity can this nation abide?

Phd in deceit hahah! I know so many with that, especially in politics! This made me smile! Clever one dear duke! And perfect picture to go with it. Clever rhymes, cheat deceit and excrete! Thanks for reading and commenting of course. We're in a tough situation over here, and we'll have to see what happens. Many of us are thinking Biden's alliance with Israel and their brutal execution of this war in response to the horrible attack by Hamas will alienate a lot of voters. We're watching and discussing it for now as we have no direct control over this situation as citizens.

Great limerick, Duke, on the possible effects on democracy should the Supreme Court strike down Trump's criminal charges, especially those relating to his time in office. The possible consequences of Trump evading responsibility for his acts as president were well expressed. Your use of puns and comedy to express serious ideas was really brilliant. Your limerick employs terms like "commander-in-cheat," "deceit," and "orgy" which tend to be more sarcastic in tone. Your amazing limerick is even more impressive since you included the contentious and provocative element of the "pee" reference, which alludes to the historic "golden showers" charges against him.

He is a criminal without doubt, very apt description, especially 'commander in cheat' - that is a title he has earned~

Michelle, thanks for this comment. Your assessment of this sociopath is spot on. I worry he could rise to national office again. This time around could be a blood bath...his own words. It's all hard to believe really.

Thanks Vijay. Many of us are worried. I just wrote a letter to each member of the Supreme Court expressing concern about their upcoming rule on the former president's case. I hope they realize the gravity of any potential immunization for criminal activity as president. Thanks for being here and for being such a wonderful poet.

Tom, yes seems to work that way. We have a real problem here with a lack of questioning among many citizens as well as an inability to put facts together in a meaningful way that may not indicate we're on target with our beliefs.

Thanks Jan...I believe that Biden has problems with some of his positions as well, but he has empathy, self control, honor, and understands fairness. He doesn't always do the right thing in my opinion, but he can change his mind. The orange man will do whatever is in his own self interest and lie to get what he wants. The rest just stretch the truth a bit. OMG.
