The Peculiar Fairy

A flower dances in the moon. I like to watch it give a tune. As the stars shine down. And give faint light all around. I know I'll come back soon. Back from my distant mind. That wanders well and seeks to find. Escape from this little frailty, That we learn to call reality. I might not come back this time. I'd fall asleep in my cozy bed. Never to return to the things I dread. To stay inside my mind of thoughts, I think about that quite a lot. But no, I wake up instead. Give me shelter, warmth, and food. Don't feel worried, sad, or blue. Give me care, a smile, and a name. Give me joy and feel the same. But most of all, give me you. I don't need money, cars, or toys. Those things are only meant for boys. No lying eyes or big disguise. I don't want to get red eyes. Or make that awful noise. The wind blows and gives me chills. I see the fairy on the hill. It watches me as I watch it. I get scared I must admit. I know that I don't have the skill. To find you in your hidden place. Such a thing escapes my fate. I think about it every night. And give myself a forged delight. To escape there would be great. Until then I lay in bed. And wish upon a star. Feel my eyes change to red. My dreams are so far From this place that clings to me. This place is what I hate to be. I want to give it imagery. But the world it seems won't take it. It's set its ways and won't change it. But to leave this place scares me too It's all I've known. It gave me life and I know it's true. Here I've grown. i must feel I can not stay. When I feel I've gone astray. And when I have ceased to pray. I shall leave... on that day.
