Parable of Talents

up at the pearly gates, there they stood waiting in line one fine day the lady with the angel's voice who sang only in her shower the painter-perfectionist who would never soil a blank canvas the actor who was too shy to try for roles in the theater the poet who scribbled notes all tucked in a drawer locked away and the scruffy young girl knew best to make people smile back at her they took a big bite of humble pie when they learned, there so anxious all would be asked how they made the most of their talents as they were ~ AP: Honorable Mention 2020 Submitted on September 15, 2018 for contest THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS sponsored by HOLLY PRIMERANO

It does annoy me when you see talented layabouts wasting their talents. But I take my hat off to disabled people who overcome disability to use their talents and never giving up. Well written Line. Tom

Thanks, Tom. My husband is the perfect example of these heros. When he was 18 he brought home podium medals in the Paralympics for swimming, and that's just an example of how he's lived every day of his life. It's hard to see him battling prostate and bone cancer right now.

I like the unique way you addressed defining the meaning of this parable, Line. Nicely done! Hugs, Sandr

This reminds me of two good friends who always were going to start, but never did.
