Notes About The Poem

The Packing of a Suitcase

You stood in your bedroom clutching your Paddington Bear suitcase With tears in your eyes you said you’re leaving home You’d packed your toy cars and brightly coloured Lego bricks Don’t forget your favourite bear I said with a smile Please don’t leave me son … It’s not easy being three! 10 lines 5 words III contest Sponsored by Laura Loo 3/14/18

Well-done, Jan! You're right. It's not easy being three. (We forget how really tough being a little kid can be). Stray thought: I'm also wondering: How 'easy' is it being the mother?!! :) gw

My son was an angel compared to many and he never had temper tantrums. Wish they came with a user manual when they were born but we as parents learn by mistakes we make:-) hugs jan xx

Oh I'm sure if I'd ever packed my case then Teddy would have been the first thing I'd pack. i had a teddy called 'lying on teddy' because I used to lie on him and he became rather flat rather than cuddly lol:-) oh the memories!:-) hugs jan xx

My 4yr old Granddaughter came out to the back yard one day and sat upon my lap. She said that she wanted to run away, I asked her just to let me know when she was ready to go, because I wanted her to take me with her. True story.
