Most energetic pachyderm I've ever seen, that Mr. Trump. Had he not painted himself into a very tight corner, he might have made things interesting for Mr. DeSantis, whom I think will be the GOP nominee, barring the unforeseen. My choice, Mike Pence, the best Republican for the job, is too dull for these times, and also too straight. (Not to mention that he's far and away the best guy to handle Putin, Xi, Kim & Co., and has a sound grasp of finance and economics). Oh, well.

IMHO, none of the three you mentioned will be the Republican nominee for 2024. We'll see. The moderate wing of the Republican Party will not stand for either of these men. They, and the rest of the country, have had enough of the nonsense! Why wouldn't they nominate a real patriot like Adam Kinzinger, Mark Kelly, or Liz Cheney? Even I might consider voting for either of them....

In Africa, they often have trophy hunts for the old bulls who've wandered off the reservation too many times. The local community is better for it. I'm sure there's a parallel there somewhere...
