The Other Day

Although I know failure is success postponed. That her refusal; my failure Implies that this is another way NOT to do this. But I can't take this any more. The other day I saw her doing her pedicure. A light-skinned girl Her face magnificent to behold And innocent like that of a child. I caught her staring at me twice. Yes twice o. So encouraged was I. I waited for her to finish her pedicure Then I summoned a little courage and approached I tried introducing myself. Yes tried. First, I stumbled on getting to her. Then I started my introduction. I opened my mouth but only air came forth. Even the little I tried to mutter was 'stammer-personified'. (Then I realized that speaking is way different and distinct from writing) In the end, she rejected my gentle hand of friendship. Chartered. Bartered. Broken. Wounded. And pierced was my fragile heart. But she invited me o Cause from my strategic location I caught her staring at me, twice. Inviting me to make the first move. Maybe she wanted me to still come after her. Maybe her No was a YES. Maybe she wanted me to be persistent with her. Maybe she believes being hard to get makes her valued And who could blame my novice self? Just maybe. Maybe too am just too 'priced' for all the 'may-be'. And all these 'may-be' happened the other day.
