The Only Remedy for Wrongdoing

The only remedy for wrongdoing
	is to begin doing right.
The only lasting redress of grievance
is the continuous act of kindness.
This is our betrothal, our marriage,
	our family, children, friends.
Love stands waiting in the marketplace.
Who can afford to approach it?
We live in its ambience and breathe its expectation.

The giver of flowers brings us hope
	and asks nothing in return.

Another way to say what I gathered from your poem is disarm someone through gentleness and compassion rather than negativity, regardless. My wife taught me a long time ago that "you can catch more bees with honey." I had to have her explain that to me. It had a great impact on my life since then. Like you say, commitment and daily relationships bear the continuous practice of unconditional kindness and generosity. I like what you expressed. - Chris

Oh man, that’s quite true but no one ever wants to be reminded of that basic logic. Good job sir.

' to begin doing right. ' Yes, I completely agree. That's the first step that we all should take. Life is better when you go down that path. Such a wonderful message here, Christopher. My best to you. : ) Brandy
