"the Okie Girl"

Was born and raised an Oklahoma kid. A tomboy at heart no matter where I lived. I fished all day to pass the time. Had a soda and a candy for just a dime. The grass was tall and roads paved with dirt. Our clothes consisted of jeans and a shirt. Church was every Sunday to our lord we praised. An okie girl here born and raised. Teresa Skyles/Theoklapoet 06/08/09 This poem was wrote cause I was thinking of Oklahoma and me.

this is adorable, Teresa. It sounds like you were growing up around the 60's too? I was in Iowa! and I too was a tomboy. Luv, Andrea

Your days sound a lot like mine in childhood, Teresa. Oklahoma and NJ may be far apart, but we have the tomboy spirit in common. Enjoyed your poem! Love, Carolyn
