The Obscure Little Poetess

The obscure little poetess Leans forward in front of her screen Her fingers fly over the keys As she writes up her little dreams Each tiny key that she presses With her butterfly touches, light Brings to life her deepest feelings On her computer screen so bright She pauses for just a moment And gazes at her pink flowers She wonders if her words will bring Those needed refreshing showers She looks inside her little heart And searches with all of her might Trying to find the hidden words That will make her rhyme just right She’s lost in her own perfect world Filled with such beauty and delight A change from her hideous world That is filled with demons of night Sometimes on these same little keys A lonely tear or two will fall But she quickly wipes them away As she hears her fantasies call In this place filled with desire She can be a princess or queen With someone who just adores her Who makes love to her every dream She creates the most perfect place Where love never dies or betrays Where all is just goodness and light For the sun never sets for days She hides in this make believe land From the cruel truths of her life It’s where serenity abides For there’s no horror, nor any strife In her sweet little reverie In her enchanted world of rhyme She’s once more who she used to be A blooming woman in her prime. This is a repost of one of my earlier writes. Yes, I think I've come a long way! :)

The world of make-believe is ours to live in under self-made conditions. There we are free to change the rules and play the game our way. I was still not around on Soup when the obscure little poetess started posting, but I do know the blooming woman in her prime:) hugs // paul

Thanks for your visit, Dear. We all have escape mechanisms. I shouldn't complain. I have a very good life, but...as with reading...in writing, we free ourselves to explore other words and other life experiences. Thanks for the visit.

I might do the same thing. Take care Eileen.

What can i say, that as not already been said, Eileen, yes i'm late as usual, but does not diminish my respect for you or your wonderful poetry..this as all your poems is both awesome and inspiring, you may feel down, but don't, your words bring so much to so many, not all of us, are as active as we would like, but i have a memory a good memory, in which your poetry lingers and bares fruit every time i think of you......

That was a lovely poem. Obviously his second best of all his poetry here on the site. That is why it was chosen to be featured according to the number of views. Didn't get a comment except yours, Richard. Sweet of you to visit that poem and leave a comment there and here. I'm taking a bit of a break from here, dear. I wanted you to know. I will always visit what you post and comment. That I promise. Hugs

Plumbing the depths of our souls, we begin to dissipate the noise and clamor of our the world to the peacefulness of the night -- where upon the wind, words written gently whisper -- I love you, oh my soul. LO, you have indeed travelled far . . . but the adventure is just beginning!! 7

It may be an oldie, but it shows that initial poetic grace within you. I have many oldies that I look back on and still treasure though I think to myself, I've come a long way! Anyway, I think this is so sweet with yearnings!
