The Night Summons, the Heart Remembers, the Tears Fall
The Night Summons, The Heart Remembers, The Tears Fall
You were first love
so dearly missed
now shadow haunts
nights wail moaning cries
then nothing
cold aching silence
I cringe,
brain reality rebels
heart swells to eat
again
your touch
hold, crave,
anything
a kiss
a sweet gaze
warmth in winter's bed
coffee at dawn
hot, hot, hot,
your body
moon's radiant glows
love vows sworn
islands we dream
that promise
and hope
and much more
can you not see
there was earth
sky,
life,
forever love,
and you and me-
gone, gone, gone
emptiness reigns
you were first love,
now so dearly missed

Note: 11/5/2001
And in the silent sky
darkness overcame light
earth, its movement stopped
fate and time won
silence its accursed black veil
dropped
and a lost soul asked why....
Note: 9-13-2020
Again darkness looms
its claws search
earth in silence
waits
to see
the results
of time and fate...
